GVS has earned a reputation for quality, reliability, and service by providing thorough and discreet employee background screening services at a reasonable cost. All areas of concern are covered and a wide array of services are as close as your computer or fax machine. What Makes GVS Right for you? Studies show that employers spend little or no time checking the statements applicants make on their applications. Some employers make only a few perfunctory calls to previous employers. Most make no calls at all. That's understandable. Most companies are unwilling to provide anything beyond a confirmation of employment dates and it seems a waste of time to call the personal references provided by the applicant. Checking public records for criminal convictions or Worker's Compensation histories can be a monumental task if you don't know where to start. Maintaining the appropriate data bases and on-line subscriptions required to obtain driver's reports and credit profiles are tedious and expensive. GVS is experienced in developing standardized nationwide screening for large companies concerned with multi-jurisdictional applications, and also meets the specific demands of the small business needing a hand while making hiring decisions. To protect you, we continually strive to stay abreast of changing legislation as it relates to employee hiring procedures and screening.
Many positions in your company require a specific level of education. With GVS, you do not have to take the applicant's word regarding his or her education level. GVS has a staff ready to verify schools attended, diplomas, degrees, certificates and dates of attendance. Although some requests may be completed by telephone, others require a written or faxed request. When transcripts are not required, an educational verification provides a quick confirmation. Additional charges may be incurred for the following services: transcript fees, registrar fees, language line, premium time calls, international long distance or any additional expenses incurred in retrieving the education information you requested. Turn around time is from 24 hours to 2 weeks depending on the school's procedures. Please provide the applicant's name and information requiring verification. A signed release from the applicant is required in most cases.
Many applicants do not provide accurate information related to the hiring decisions. Our staff is trained in the skills of interviewing techniques, approaching employers, and evaluating responses to determine whether further inquiry into a specific area is necessary. Upon request, we can help develop a specific list of questions that pertain to your particular industry or situation. All information is returned in a easy to understand format. Additional charges may be incurred for the following services: 900 verification, language line, premium time calls, international long distance or any additional expenses incurred in retrieving the education information you requested. Please provide the applicant's name and any relevant information that needs verification. A signed release may be required, depending on the employer being notified.
A credit history will reveal several bits of information: the applicant's financial history, previous employers, and past addresses. This important information can be verified against the information provided by the applicant. GVS processes credit reports immediately and those reports are returned to you within 1 1/2 hours (when using our online service). GVS currently provides credit reports from Trans Union and will soon add Equifax and Experian (formerly TRW). Please provide the applicant's name and social security number. A signed release is required from the applicant.
Motor Vehicle Records are available on a nationwide basis in all states. Since driving records indicate arrests and convictions for driving while intoxicated, or a history of reckless or irresponsible behavior, you may be able to uncover applicants with substance abuse and/or other behavior problems. This report also provides other known addresses where the applicant has lived, (which may or may not be omitted from the application). This information is vital to your hiring decision. Normal turnaround time is 24 to 48 hours. Please provide the applicant's name, Driver's License number, date of birth (D.O.B.) and the state where the license is to be checked. For more information on individual state requirements click here.
This report provides important information regarding the identity of the applicant. It verifies whether or not the social security number given by the applicant is valid, whether or not it belongs to the applicant, and/or any other people who have used this number. Additional information may be provided at an additional cost. This request is processed immediately by GVS and is available within 1 1/2 hours (when using our online service). Please provide the applicant's name and social security number. A signed release is not required.
Criminal conviction record searches are available in three to seven year increments depending on the county and/or state. Criminal records are available in every county within every state. If necessary, information can be returned immediately; however, normal turnaround time is 48 to 72 hours. GVS conducts either a physical on-site or a direct on-line search from each courthouse. This enables us to provide the most accurate and up-to-date information available. Some states offer statewide searches, which are also available upon request. To request a criminal conviction record, please provide the applicant's name, date of birth (D.O.B.), social security number, and the city/state or county you wish us to search. A signed release is not required.
Some people make a living off of Workers' Compensation claims. Other applicants may apply for a job requiring physical exertion, knowing his or her physical limitations and can be susceptible to injury. The Workers' Compensation Report provides a history of the employee's work related injuries as filed by past employers and may include dates of claim(s), nature of injuries and whether the claim was upheld or denied by the state authority. Please provide the candidate's name, social security number, date of birth (D.O.B.), and indicate the state to be searched. This report requires a signed release from the employer and can only be requested after an employment offer has been made to the candidate.
GVS provides you with the capability of requesting and obtaining reports from the privacy of your computer. There are no start up fees or monthly access fees. Now you can send requests, check the status of an application and receive reports at your convenience, at the touch of your computer. It will also enable you to store all confidential records and keep them protected with private or limited access. The program is best experienced with Microsoft Internet Explorer, which makes it very user-friendly. Ask us how to get
